The University of Michigan Industrial and Operations Engineering (IOE) Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) student chapter received the Gold HFES Chapter Recognition Award, the highest level of recognition awarded for student chapters. Chapters are recognized for their contributions and achievements across a number of categories, such as recruitment, volunteering and mentorship. The gold level award requires activity in at least eight categories with excellence in at least five categories.

“I’m very happy that our chapter was awarded again for our continued efforts,” said Kamolnat Tabattanon, 2021-22 chapter president. “The past few years have been difficult in terms of planning and trying our best to serve our members, and it is always encouraging to see our efforts recognized. The officer team and I are honored to receive the award on behalf of the chapter.”

HFES is a non-for-profit organization that provides education, builds connections, and advocates on behalf of the human factors/ergonomics field with chapters worldwide. The University of Michigan HFES Student Chapter is organized to serve the needs of the human factors profession at the University of Michigan. This is the University of Michigan chapter’s second year receiving the Gold level Chapter Recognition Award.
