U-M Industrial and Operations Engineering wins several awards at the 2022 INFORMS Annual Meeting
The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) annual meeting has officially wrapped up with the University of Michigan Industrial and Operations Engineering (U-M IOE) Department walking away with several awards.
The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) annual meeting has officially wrapped up with the University of Michigan Industrial and Operations Engineering (U-M IOE) Department walking away with several awards.
U-M IOE Ph.D. Student, Lauren Czerniak won the INFORMS 2022 Judith Liebman Award. The Judith Liebman Award has been established to recognize outstanding student volunteers who have been “moving spirits” in their universities, their student chapters, and the Institute.
U-M IOE Associate Professor and Associate Chair of Undergraduate Studies, Mariel Lavieri won the Sanjay and Panna Mehrotra Research Excellence Award. This award recognizes a mid-career researcher for significant contributions to the practice of health applications through operations research and management science modeling and methodologies.
The 2022 INFORMS Annual Meeting took place from Oct. 16-19 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Each meeting encompasses numerous presentations, networking opportunities and award ceremonies. This year the U-M IOE Department also hosted their own “Michigan Night” for attendees who were associated with the University of Michigan.
