Chen received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Data Science as well as a minor in economics from Peking University, in 2019. Chen’s research interests surround mixed-integer programming, large-scale optimization, information theory, and machine learning.
University of Michigan Industrial and Operations Engineering (U-M IOE) Ph.D. student, Zhongzhu Chen has been selected for the University of Michigan Rackham Predoctoral Fellowship Program.

The Rackham Predoctoral Fellowship supports Ph.D. students who have achieved candidacy and are actively working on dissertation research and writing. Predoctoral fellows are working on dissertations that are unusually creative, ambitious, and impactful. The fellowship provides three terms of support and includes a stipend, candidacy tuition, and covers required fees for 12 months.
