The Rackham Predoctoral Fellowship supports PhD students who have achieved candidacy and are actively working on dissertation research and writing
University of Michigan Industrial and Operations Engineering (U-M IOE) PhD student, Jianhao Ma has been selected for the University of Michigan Rackham Predoctoral Fellowship Program.
“I am ecstatic to have been honored with this award, and I will continue developing efficient algorithms that address the complexities of real-world, robust machine learning challenges,” said Ma.
Ma received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics at Tsinghua University. His research interests surround robust machine learning and nonconvex optimization.
The Rackham Predoctoral Fellowship supports PhD students who have achieved candidacy and are actively working on dissertation research and writing. Predoctoral fellows are working on unusually creative, ambitious and impactful dissertations. The fellowship provides three terms of support and includes a stipend, candidacy tuition and covers required fees for 12 months.
