Juan is a Ph.D. student in Industrial and Operations Engineering. He received his B.S. degree in Engineering Management from the University of Monterrey, Mexico, in 2022. He received an Embedded M.S.E. in Industrial and Operations Engineering (IOE) from University of Michigan. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with the Department of IOE, University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor, MI, USA.
Research Interests
Juan’s research focuses on developing models and methodologies for solving large-scale nonconvex optimization problems in complex networks. Methods include stochastic optimization, distributionally robust optimization, parallel computing and reinforcement learning. Applications include risk management for monitoring critical infrastructure systems, as well as logistic network design under uncertainty.
